2018 Season Draw Released

AFL Riverina is pleased to release the 2018 Season Draws for the Riverina Football Netball League and the Farrer Football Netball League. Once again teams will take to the field and court, reigniting decade long rivalries, as well as celebrating various milestones in their club’s histories. A breakdown of must watch games can be found below:

Riverina Football Netball League

Round One – Leeton Whitton v Collingullie GP

The Crows will host the Demons in a rematch of the 2017 Grand Final. With a raft of changes to the Leeton Whitton playing list after their ground-breaking victory, and hopefully some kinder conditions, the men from Crossroads Oval will be hoping to inflict some revenge on the reigning premiers.

Round One, Two, Three – Twilight Fixtures

With the fantastic facilities on offer at both the Narrandera Sports Ground and Griffith Ex Services, we’re looking forward to plenty of same day Football/Netball action with their South West Juniors, topped off with under lights action.

Round One – Griffith v Narrandera

Round Two – Narrandera v Leeton Whitton

Round Three – Griffith v Leeton Whitton & Narrandera v Coolamon

Round Four – Mangoplah CUE v Wagga Tigers

The Mangoplah Sportsground Netball Court, will play host to the Grand Final rematch between the Goannas and the Wagga Tigers, with the girls from Mangoplah looking to protect their home court and get one back over their local counterparts.

Round 11 – Wagga Tigers v Turvey Park

A big day for the Wagga Tigers, as they celebrate the 20 Year Anniversary of their RFL Premiership win over rivals Turvey Park. The Black and Gold Army will surely be out in full force, looking to celebrate in style, whilst Turvey Park will be looking to rain on their parade.

Farrer Football Netball League

Round One – Marrar v Temora

Marrar will host Temora in the 2017 Grand Final rematch. The start of what is a milestone year for the Bombers, whilst the men from Temora will be looking to make amends for their narrow defeat in the penultimate game of 2017.

Round Three – Anzac Fixtures

Marrar will play host the TRYC, in the traditional Friday Night clash at Robertson Oval, whilst North Wagga will play host to East Wagga Kooringal at McPherson Oval. With both games sure to be played in true Anzac Spirit, they will certainly be the games to watch of the Round 3 action.

Round Five – Charles Sturt University v Barellan

2018 will mark 40 years since CSU won the Central Riverina Premiership, and will be looking to celebrate in style as they welcome the Barellan Two Blues at Pig Park. With the one Farrer FNL Premiership to their name, the Bushpigs will looking to find some magic in a special year for the club.

Round Eight – North Wagga v TRYC

In what will be a Queens Birthday Weekend Clash for the ages, North Wagga will host the defending champs, TRYC. With no love lost between these two teams on the court, the grand final rematch of 2017. Sure to be an enthralling battle between two powerhouses of the league.

Round Seven – Marrar v Northern Jets

Marrar will celebrate their 100th Year as a Club on the 2nd of June, taking on local neighbours the Northern Jets in what will be a huge day and night of celebrations for the club. After picking up their first flag since 1996, the club will be looking to continue that momentum this year, chasing back-to-back premierships.

Same day Football/Netball is a staple for many of the clubs around the Riverina, and we look forward to plenty of these showcasing the fantastic pathway available within clubs, from their Auskick and Net-Set-Go beginners, all the way through to their seasoned First and A Grade Veterans.
